Turns out my new fixed header placement threw off my navbar links (the top part of the destination was now hidden under the header), so I had to add some hidden links and a class to offset the destination by a tad more than the header height. Found the solution on StackOverflow here and tweaked it to suit.
I also tweaked my form styling a bit (mainly the input and legend elements) to soften things up as the sharp corners and white backgrounds was giving me very much Windows 95 π.
